Expensive sounding click - hoping for a simple fault, expecting an expensive failure

Annoying not to know what the sound was. Did they think anything on the pump would have stopped it starting?

Not specifically, but from the description of the fault they felt fully dismantling was prudent. In hindsight I think air must have entered when I removed the stop solenoid, and then I simply did not vent it. But had I not removed it I know I would be for ever thinking 'is there a problem'.

I am thinking about having the Port engine pump calibrated as the starboard was out.
