My second big departure from the UK happens in a few days time. Unfortunately it will not be a repeat of heading off into the sunset, but fortunately I will be heading off to sunnier skies. I have bought a share in a new game reserve in South Africa and need to head back there to ensure that there are heads on beds. I expect to be there for about a year before heading back to Stingo and continuing with my circumnavigation.

I will try pop in here as often as time and internet access permits, but I don't expect that to be too often. So until then, Adiós amigos and may the Gods of wind & whiskey be kind to you.

A close friend of ours - a talented painter of SA origin - has just gone back home for a year to teach art to underprivileged kids and to help oversee the building of a house on some land that she has bought with her sister. You're in excellent company.

Good fortune and (forgive me) I hope you don't find it too taxing..............

What happened to the cat you were thinking of buying ?

Gotta sell Stingo first and if that doesn't happen, then the above applies. I am about to drop the price to bargain basement levels.

Good Luck mate

Do we get cheap accommodation if we pop over for a safari?? /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Keep in touch!

Yep. First night free, (including meals & game viewing drives) but book via me - my email address is on my sailing website. Naturally, this offer is open to all forumites that have never slagged me off.

Brendan, you still owe me a pint and your debt is so long outstanding that I cannot remember why. Anyway, a beer only costs 50p at my reserve. I'll be more than happy for you to buy it there.

Would be nice (if time and technology permits) for us back in miserable old Blighty if you could post your progress similar to your saily web page.

Take care.

Kevin.

Good luck - we are heading to SA to claim Gill's inheritence in Oct.
In Barnes tonight so may stagger to Putney for a stability test! If not good luck and stay in touch.
Richard
