So we got the 2012 Olympics.

Usually the host nation includes some 'exhibition sports', in the hope that they will be sufficiently interesting to be adopted for future competition. That's how beach volleyball started, for instance.

What sports would Scuttlebutters include? Preferably with a nautical flavour?

I was wondering about a nautical equivalent to that ski race where they periodically stop to shoot. Perhaps with PWCs as targets?

Underwater basket weaving

Soot juggling

Decorative breast painting

Synchronised nipple tassle twirling

Unicycle endurance racing

French cricket would seem appropriate.

Or perhaps some of the traditional stuff:

Dwyle flonking

Knurr and spell

Piggy

Or perhaps as an Irish friend of mine suggested - hurling

Proper yotting, No wet suits, no dry suits. Tot taken at every mark rounding, Bacon sarnies prepared once an hour, All sails at least 7 years old. Sailed in, let's see, nothing too sporty, how about SCODs?

The rowing should be made more realistic.
e.g. in under-inflated Avons, against wind & tide, in the rain with a complaining woman in the back.

Now that I'd pay to see. Inflatables instead of racing shells, over a 2000m course. The winner would deserve a gold medal.
