Exhaust temp monitoring

Wasn't there quite a good PBO article on adapting a bought temp sensing alarm electronics kit where the author explained changing the resistors to ensure operation at a suitable temp on the exhaust.

I am vamping here as cannot remember what the copy number is and am keen to have a read since I have been improving my engine an exhaust over temp alarm is an addition I am thinking of making over the winter.

I fitted a pair of these last year with the temp probes mounted in epoxy putty just after the injection bends. Winter running around 25C, Hot Summer maxed out at 45 C on 250 HP VP turbo diesels running near flat out. I set the alarm just a few degrees above the high point.

Ebay 321312277365 NB ebay ref in earlier thread reply is cheaper. All the ebay stuff I have ordered from China has arrived no probs.

I wired the alarm NO contact to the otherwise unused glow plug warning lamps on the dash panels. This year installing them properly now I know they work properly. Would be as easy to wire to some high vis LEDs in a convenient position.

Thanks superheat. Nice to know they work as expected. I will fit with confidence now.
