Exhaust Hose Sizes

Just bought a boat with a Volvo Penta 2002 Series Engine, Got a leaking waterlock and I need to know what diameter hose connects from the engine. I cant reach it to measure till I take up the cockit Access Panel ,
Any help gratefully recieved

I've got a 2003 and it has the same size outlet. I fitted a new waterlock last year, and fitted a 45mm unit.

The actual engine outlet spigot made it a very tight/stretched 45mm. But it went on OK.

The previous piping was 45 all the way from engine to transom as that fitting was also 45mm. I suspect that the engine spigot could take a 50mm pipe. So no real help really.

The 45mm and water-trap do not seem to impair performance of the engine.

The workshop manual does not indicate the size - as far as I can see.

If it helps I recently replaced the waterlock on my 1995 2030 and it was 45mm.

If I remember correctly they make 40,45,and 50 mm versions...... good luck
