Are you sure it is smoke and not steam? For example Westerly Fulmar's seem to have a relatively "dry" exhaust which as well as being noisy, produces some steam.
thank you oldhand for the reply. I am not sure if it is smoke or steam. The cooling water flow is not great and the "white smoke" only appears at the higher revs. Maybe it is the cooling water system I should be checking.
Had they been ford, then join the club. I have had the same problem with 2x 210hp sabres in the last week smoking worse than normally. I received a reply from a fellow boat advising I should give them a good dose of Soltron and its on order for delivery from Fuel Save Ltd, Nantwich, 01270 611386 Andrew Harris £29.99 delivered for 500ml and it goes a long way.
But just out of interest humidity levels have been high last few days and my engines seriously smoked. If you consider the turbo's had not been in use the inlet air (high temp and humiditywith coldish engines) 94%humidity in the air then this may have a bearing
White smoke normally indicated unburned fuel, unless its steam,
Another advised of a retro fit kit but no answer from the suppliers yet
