You have all seen those built in bathing platforms on boats. Great if You want to pull someone out of the water, step aboard your dinghy, sit with your feet in the water on a hot day, even using them for swimming. BUT! heaven help you if are moored alongside and you want to step ashore because 9 times out of 10 the designer has enclosed the step either side. Why oh why can't the locate the support elsewhere allowing free access either side.
Yes! I realise that Med boats moor stern to but by the simple expedient of allowing free access either side then all situations are covered without the necessity of negotiating an obstruction.

I thought the swim platforms were really crumple zones for use by cack handed MoBo drivers /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Mine is being used by the local duck population as a toilet. Every time I visit the boat I find piles of duck poo. If anyone knows a cure for this please let me know.

Put a notice up threatening to clamp them and an exhorbitant release fee. That will do it.

Net over the swim platform or dangle some old cds over it. I've not tried the latter, but seen it done. Those using same didn't have mucky platforms. I had a coot pack its way through the net and onto the teak earlier this year.

May I suggest a single copy of this will do the trick

Certainly enough to keep most things at bay, although not sure if you would fall foul (fowl) of Health & Safety or possibly cruelty to animals regulations.
