I've had a problem last few trips out with transmissions on my three yr old Simrad fixed VHF, with it culminating in it not transmitting at all last time out. A phone call to Navico who deal with Simrad in the UK identified it may be nothing more than a dodgy PTT switch or dry joint. I took the handset to their office in Romsey today, unannounced, expecting to leave it for a repair, but no, they took it and fixed it in less than 15 minutes, free of charge. I'd have preferred a £600 VHF not to have broken in the first place, but nevertheless full marks to them for fixing it on the spot.
