I was given this link by an Italian boating acquaintance of mine. It is an Italian website giving wind strength, wave height and precipitation predictions for 5 days covering the whole of the Med but with detailed predictions for Italian coastal areas. Could be useful for any Med boater but particularly anyone boating in sea areas bordering Italy

http://www.lamma.rete.toscana.it/meteo/modelli/vento-e-mare

The language is Italian and I don't see any way of changing it to English but it's fairly easy to use. Click on the 3 boxes on top of the chart to change date/time, type of weather prediction required and sea area

Is there a site that shows somthing other than rain for this weekend in Antibes / Monaco?

The graphs are in English, so it seems this site is taking them from another English speaking site somewhere.
Not necessarily, Nick. My guess is that they are just using a software written in English, though I'm not positive for this specific website, even if i did see it before.
But for instance, also the "official" IT met office (which is the one you can hear 24/24 on 68 VHF, when cruising IT waters) has some webpages with English labels, in spite of the fact that they do make their own predictions.

have been using that site for predictions on my returntrip Rome - SOF a few weeks ago,
worked very well, and accurate info,
you can use the site also for the Coté d'azur,

recently I came across this one,
http://passageweather.com/

It seems the same info like the It site (bud didn't check it thorrowly)

anyway,
whatever site I looked at,
all gave very bad weather last weekend in SOF :o

Oh dear, it has been glorious weather in the Adriatic over the last few days. I took my boat back to Frapa near Split from Monfalcone and we had 4 days of sunny weather with a light following wind from the NW. I couldn't have asked for any better conditions. Perhaps you are moored in the wrong place?:D

Perhaps you are moored in the wrong place?:D

but its so cheap in Toulon,
the mooring (the cheapest in all sof)
the restaurants,
I even thought to call you Mike, and asc you why you missed this place in your med exploration :D:D

I asked my neighbour, "what's wrong with this place"
why is everything here so cheap ?

big city
nice old town,
good acces from 2 airports,
a huge Carrefour (shopping mall) on the opposite site of the street,
I go with the shopping caddy to the boat,

still expecting the "bad" surprice though :)

Go on, tell me how cheap it is to moor in Toulon? My SWMBO has read your article in MBY and is now asking why we can't buy a bigger boat:)

Maybe the world famous Toulon power grid, running under the marina waters, aka "the underwater gear destroyer", has something to see with that...?

...sorry, couldn't resist! :D

Mike do you realise that you have the swmbo that some on here would love to have :D
Well, I don't know about that, BartW. She may want a bigger/better boat but it also means she wants bigger/better everything and that probably includes her husband:D
