ex RAF / Military hull wanted

I was recently very taken with a 41.5' ex RAF seaplane tender but she turned out to be sold. It wetted my appetite for such a craft and would now like to restore one to operational condition. Whilst researching it came to my notice that quite a lot of ex-military craft seem to end up as house boats so wondered if anyone on this forum had any information on where I might find such a craft... thanks Iain

you can see one sitting on the mud in the upper reaches of the hamble as you drive along the m27. might be worth investigating.

Depends how major a job you want. Go anywhere where there are houseboats, and you'll find that about half of them are WWII launches and the like. But they'd be far from cheap to restore.

I'll check out the one on the m27...I don't mind a fairly major job as I intend to carry it out over several years so I'll have a look around the houseboat areas. Would still be keen to hear from anyone with details of any specific ones for sale
