Evostick removal

A previous owner of my sloop used what I think is Evostick to glue curtain fixings to the rough textured fibreglass of the fibreglass of the cabin walls each side of the windows. It was a really messy and unsightly job with large blobs and smears of brown Evostick left astray.

Does anyone know how to remove this without damaging the surface of the fibreglass? Is it best scraped or will a chemical solvent approach work?

Evo-Stik make their own solvent/glue remover - which 'ought' to be ok on grp.

Evostick cleaner used to be toluene or xylene. The latter I think.

Current stuff is a mixture containing acetone, ethyl acetate , C6 and C7 hydrocarbons and naphtha.

If you have any antifouling thinner try that before buying Evo stick cleaner,

Probably have more success scraping the old glue off.

After several failures l bonded wooden blocks on to the grp (after cleaning) with car body filler for the curtain rail fittings. It works well and sets quickly especially if the surface is warmed.
