I wish to glue some wood batons (ply) onto the inside of my GRP hull. The batons will eventually have panels screwed to them. They are cabin lining panels, non structural and relatively light weight (4 mm, 3 ply, 2 m x 0.25 m)

Both the Evo-Stik adhesives claim to be very, very strong and "Stick Like Sh*t" is tolerant to moisture.

Can anyone advise if bonding wood to GRP (not Gel Coat) is a suitable application for these products or will the adhesive not bond well to GRP?

Many Thanks,

BlowingOldBoots

Last season I bonded a glass panel to SS and mounted it in the front line - the cockpit hood, using Ss like St. Still there.

Not a bad candidate for your job I would think.

SLS is not the nicest stuff to use - but it is very secure.
We have un-drillable concrete walls in the garden (quartz pebbles...) and I've used SLS to stick a 10cm x 10cm steel plate to the wall - with an eye to support a big fruit tree.
No movement whatsoever.

A tad messy - don't get it anywhere you don't want it!!!

Hilti SDS drills "Do" undrillable concrete :D

Sticks like... adhesive is fantastic stuff- it's used in its industrial formulation by most of the discerning boatbuilders. If you're sticking things seriously, make sure the GRP is abraded and acetone wiped to remove any mould-release etc.
