Anyone know a web site for old engines (1980's) such as the above, so I can learn a bit more about them (only used to 5hp and below so far) ?

What does VRO stand for?

Is the evinrude 40hp vro 1986 a good engine? What sort of price should they be going for 2nd hand if in satisfactory working order, but not mint?

Anything to pay particular attention to when viewing a potential buy?

It may not be relivant, but ive run a few old johnsons in the past. They all seemed to overheat. maybe its just me, or the 20 stone wife on a mono ski!!!
