Can anyone tell me the best place to get a repair manual for an Evinrude 9.9hp 4-stroke (High Thrust) engine.
This engine I am told is of Belgian origin (from Model number) but I think all engines of this make, and year should have the same repair manual??

Welcome to the forums. How did you find out about them /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The most satisfactory would be an official OMC manual, dealing specifically with that and perhaps a small number of similar engines, from an Evinrude/Johnson dealer. You could order one if necessary direct from the USA. You'll find links on either iBoats or MarineEngine.com.

iBoats is the better of the two forums for getting help by far IMHO but beware you might get advice from me! /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Third party manuals such as those from Seloc or Clymer can be obtained from Amazon but they tend to cover such a wide range of models that they come a very poor second to the official ones.

If you are hoping to find an online manual ..... good luck!

Have i already suggested www.Willsmarine.co.uk in Devon (Kingsbridge IIRC) to you as a source of spares. They ought to be able to supply the manual.

Other sources of spares I have noted are

www.outboards-direct.co.uk (Oakley marine in Brighton)

www.outboardservices.co.uk in Falmouth

I guess I have already pointed you in the direction of the BRP parts catalog.

Excellent.

Also try Ebay. Seen em on there in CD format. Got one for an old Merc last year. Excellent. Cost me a fiver.

Good or not, they are still pirated copies surely?
