Hi All
We are thinking of buying a 15' sunbird with a 1990 70hp evinrude which is in exceptionally clean fresh water use only conditon. A previous survey done 5 years ago highlighted excessive end float in the bottom shaft which the current owner has not looked into. The end fload is between 3-5mm when pulling/pushing on the prop and doesn't seem any more than on my last 2 outboards. Is this a serious problem, a simple one that needs attention - and if so how easy is it to adjust, or is the survey being too critical?
Also, any views on the plastic prop that's fitted - the type you can dismantle and replace a single blade - anyone got an alloy one for sale?? - pitch suitable for watersports - (13-15"??)
Hope you can all help!
Thanks
Tom
