evinrude 4hp deluxe

hi and good morning, i have an Evinrude 4hp deluxe and people keep telling me , you can turn that into a five or even six hp , though no one seems to know how . its definitely not the same head as the normal evinrude 4 hp and for the world i can see no difference between it and the head of ,certainly all up to six hp . does anyone know if its true and it can be upgraded or is it an urban myth . thanks. kieron

No a 4 hp cannot be upgraded to a 5 or 6 hp

The 4 hp is a 87 cc engine. the 5 and 6 hp are 164 cc engines

Could the head be skimmed slightly, that would increase the HP.
