Ever got rid of something and then found what it's for?

I carried around a couple of very large spanners thinking that they were possibly for prop shaft stuffing box. last year the SL anchor winch stopped working and after downloading a manual aha! a picture of my "spanners" showing how they were used as emergency winch handles.
