Yesterday (Friday), a photographer from MBY came down to take some pix for the article on Evenstar's refurb. Wanting some pix myself for the new web site, I tagged along and here are some of my pix. Mark, she is looking good!

+1 :)

saw Evenstar travelling down the Hamble a couple of weeks ago, looking very smart. Intrigued on what the interior design is like because of the little hull window towards the stern....as assuming sterndrive?

Its an F43 effectively, albeit with a shorter bathing platform and flybridge over hang.

Layout is large master aft cabin with seperate head and shower compartments, mid ships saloon, galley forward to port, bunk cabin forward to stb under the helm, party sized head and another seperate shower forward of that with a big V berth bow cabin.

Boat is shaft drive, not stern drive

bunk cabin forward to stb under the helm,
Dinette on some instead of the 3rd cabin, such as on ours. The little hull windows aft are the separate shower and toilet compartments for the master cabin. IMHO the 390/410/F43 (all fundamentally the same) was one of Sealine's best ever boats and showed off their ability to cram a quart of accommodation into a pint pot of boat without making it feel cramped. Also the hull itself was pretty good too
Here's to Evenstar 4 and all who sail in her. Great job!

Well for fear of being commercial (actually I don't give a dam;)) you can see Evenstar at the Southampton Boat Show as 5 Star is doing the on-water training for the RYA Active Marina initiative. Today the interior was removed for all new covering. She will be lifted next week to be Copper Coated.

Oh, just to add, the owner will be running the weekend sessions.

Cracking photos

And the boat has come on a long way since I rode on her last summer in Vinaros (Spain)
Fantastic refit

Thanks. And I don't forget that without your help, and whitelighter's help, I probably wouldn't have owned her.

John 10056 has helped too, letting me photograph the bowels of his boat, and telling me how not to sink her in Spain. And Jfm is responsible for the white teak caulking, for which I,m grateful, and for 2 scatter cushions, for which I'm livid :)

It's great to hear the comments from everyone. I see the to do list and it gets me down sometimes. It's easy to forget how far we've come and that she is already a boat to enjoy.

The new leather will be a huge boost and I'm going to try and finish the oak interior before Southampton.

I also want to add teak to the aft deck to match the bathing platform and steps, and remodel the flybridge to make it more sociable when not underway - principally a tram style flip type helm bench - and teaking the deck at the same time.

Nearly there :)

Thanks for the explanation. Sealine, assumed sterndrive. Now I know.

Certainly sealine did some very good interior layouts

Dinette on most I think the 3rd cabin is unusual.

It is a great design. The only real criticism is that the tumblehome makes the side decks too narrow. If she kept her beam from the rubbing strake to he gunwale, the decks would be usefully wider, fairly near to double the width in fact. A proper walk rather than a shuffle. I've already had to fit semi recessed nav lights because they were at boob height for the admiral, which combined with the narrow decks made for frequent collisions and the associated apportionment of blame.

The saloon is unbelievably large for a 42ft loa boat. Add 3 useful cabins, 2 of which have en suite loos with separate showers and she's a tardis.

Yep and you can drop down a ladder through a hatch in the saloon and you have a large area thats easy to move around in, forward of the engines, with crouch height where you can easily access all the daily check points, strainers, filters, dipsticks as well as get to the impellers etc.
The saloon floor only needs lifting for servicing, and even then you don't have to call in pickfords.
