You have to get up very

early to keep ahead of Mr Tim O'Leary.

Every opportunity he has to add onto his fare price and blame someone else will be seized.

However are you really conned by the claims of lowest price? Most recognise the important bit is how much you pay at the end.

Example:-

Return to Rome Ciampino from London.

Ryanair £37.83 inc. from Luton. Basic fare £12.98.
Easyjet £40.98 inc from Gatwick. Basic fare £27.98.

Personally I'd rather fly easyjet - brand new Airbus 310 compared to clapped out old Boeing 737 (in fairness Ryanair have some 737/600 as well as 737/400 replacing the 737/200 of 1980s vintage).

Point is Timothy has a nice big cash mountain and is probably going to outlast his rivals - when they're out of the way - just watch fares go up.

After all this is the man who bought a taxi for his sole personal use when they put clear bus and taxi-only lanes into Dublin.

PS Another big Ryanair money spinner. A 15kg maximum hold baggage limit, rigorously enforced in UK with excess at €6/kg. The other cheapies allow U 20 kg. Mind you the 5Kg hand baggage limit has been lifted, but its got to suit the size limit.
This means you can take your spent uranium for the keel in your hand baggage but not in the hold.
