How many of you have realised that the E111 has been replaced?

Slightly over-egging the pudding. The old E111 form has been replaced with a new E111. The old form expires on 31st of Dec. The new form will work for the whole of 2005. See <A target="_blank" HREF=http://www.dh.gov.uk/PublicationsAndStatistics/PressReleases/PressReleasesNotices/fs/en?CONTENT_ID=4091259&chk=YKnlf9>this press release</A>.

Quite right ccscott49. Our goverment in their infinite wisdom have decided that we can't do it as quick as the rest of europe so we are doing it a year later. Presumably the thief Brown has his grubby paws in there somewhere salting away our money to give away "less advantaged".
Can't wait till the countries broke, then we will all be "disadvantaged" and probably be able to afford to do all the things we want to without working and paying taxes.

Old E111 form ceases validity at end of this year, New form (available to download) is valid until end of next year, This will then be replaced by a new EU wide doument.

Wonder what it cost to bring in the new form?

It's the new European Health Insurance Card. Ireland is the first country to have it, not sure when the rest of the EU will get it.
I got mine in August 2004 & it is valid until end of May 2006.
The idea is to get rid of the yearly forms & replace with credit card sized magnetic ones.
Don't know about the cost but as it means I don't need a new E111 every time I go abroad it has to be good.
