EU 45

EU 45 ?? Shoe size ?? Equivalent to UK mens size 11 .. a little too large for me!

Google it and the first entry is an anti fouling paint.

Never heard of it, but it is a valid question!

I Googled it and found a table of shoe sizes !

We know what it is really ... just having a bit of a leg pull

Is it legal in the UK ??

The link to the technical data sheet does not work!

I obviously have a marine orientated version of Google! Got the shoe size (but then 45 is my shoe size - so focused marketing again). However if you refine your search to just EU 45 you get the antifoul at the top.

I've used it on my sports cruiser for the past two years with excellent results. Each year when she is lifted out the marina staff ask me what antifoul I use because they can believe how clean she is.

Not a good sign that the link from the home page to the techspec document doesn't work, in English or Spanish.

I think I'll stick to Jotun (unless I Coppercoat)

I've been using it for the last couple of years on the recommendation of the previous owner who had the boat on the Orwell (which appararently is notorious for marine growth). I've been very pleased with it's performance, it's easy to apply (and remove) and IMHO one of the better value anti-fouls.

That makes 2 happy posters! Anyone with negative experience or are we still at 100%.

(usual disclaimer about having no relationship with the company other than as a satisfied, repeat buying customer!)

I considered it..the guy who runs it is very helpful and informative if you have any questions. I think they use the highest allowed amount of copper in antifoul, but I dont think there is any biocide etc.
I didnt use it simply bcz Trilux is working well for me, and I didnt want to risk anything else when I dont have an a/foul problem anyway!

Yes he is very helpful.
Isn't copper a biocide anyway? The term doesn't just mean nasty organics.
See http://www.smlmarinepaints.co.uk/files/library/files/Marine_Safety_Sheets/SeaQueen_Safety_0110.pdf and http://www.smlmarinepaints.co.uk/files/library/files/Marine_Safety_Sheets/SeaForce30_Safety_0110.pdf
for ingredients.
What is zinc oxide there for, is it a biocide?
There was certainly a lot of copper in SeaGuardian - i couldn't believe the weight of a 5L can!

I used EU45 two years ago because it contains 45% copper. Unfortunately the weed, the barnacles and other sundry algae had no idea that copper was a good thing so they grew in profusion regardless. It was the worst antifoul that I have ever used. Avoid

We have used EU45 for the last 3 seasons between the Algarve and Greece and have been pretty impressed with the results after 7 months in the water on all occasions. I would recommend it - "free" delivery included anywhere in the EU. No connection.

Interesting. The tin shown on their website has "up to 45% copper oxide" on it. In the limited info on their website, they make a big thing of the SG being 1.9, but Micron is actually a weeny bit heavier and, in my experience, very effective.

Searush, I wish I could think of a smart reply but would probably just stick my foot harder into my mouth. When in a hole, stop digging! By the way, from the replies it doesn't sound as though this product is the answer to all my prayers so lets now thread drift onto prop fouling??
