Do these exist ? If not what would be the problems, gel
obviously seems less likely to spill...

Ive seen survivalist versions, but why not a marine one ?

Only ones I have seen were used by caterers at outdoor events.

single use 3 inch diameter canister with a peel off top
used under a bain-marie (water trough) to keep pre-prepared food hot for serving.

controling the burn time and or heat may be the problem for using for primary cooking
