I have bought an Etap 22 recently. All the various deck fittings, Winches cleats and Jammers are all bolted to the deck. Internally there is a molded head lining which has removable panels to access the wiring to the mast plugs, but no other means of accessing the deck fittings. I am guessing that there are glassed in captive nuts for the deck fittings. Is there an Etap owner out there who has personal experience of removing deck fittings?

I don’t have personal knowledge of the ETAP 22 specifically, but most ETAPs had aluminium backing plates glassed into the deck moulding in way of the deck fittings. These are drilled and tapped from the outside. You should therefore be able to safely unscrew any deck fittings. There should also be scope to drill new holes if you need to change the fittings, although there is no way of knowing the extents of the backing plate.

I have an Etap22i but have not as yet had to remove any fittings so can't give you any personal experiences. Unfortunately the Etap Owners website forum seems to be unavailable now which was a good source of information.
I would recommend you give David Morris at Woodrolfe Marina a call (01621 770636). They were former agents for Etap and he is very helpful and should be able to give you some useful information. They also carry some Etap parts.
