...I know they buy a few. Just having a look around their site and came across a Tarquin Trader 595 - the Natalie Jane.

I could be mistaken, but was this the boat featured in MBM or MB&Y a few months ago that was wrecked in a storm of the coast of spain with a family on board who were abandoned by the spanish coast guard??????

You're not mistaken, I had a quick look upstairs in the "old issues" pile, and it's exactly the same boat with exactly the same name.

dv.

Yes but it does say that "The boat has been very well looked after by the previous owners".
So it should be all right then?
However, I have heard somewhere that this Make, when bought New is kind of a Project anyway!

A trifle ambitious on the price as well considering this other one on the market at a lower price

HERE

I think the value of Nathalie Jane depends very much on how much seawater got into the accomodation during the beaching. If it is just a case of damaged sterngear but the hull remained watertight, then I think it could be a good buy for somebody at the right price but if part of the accomodation got flooded, then it becomes a 'project' and £200k+ is ridiculous
It does beg a question though. If there was only sterngear damage, why did'nt the insurance co repair the boat rather than write it off? I suspect there's a lot more damage than just sterngear

It's a whole heap of 18 yr old boat at quite a lot of money IMHO. I think there are other Taiwanese 50-60 footers for similar money or less but sure as hell looks a lot of boat against new boat prices
