Essential kit list for a 24ft boat?

I have just purchased a 24ft boat and would like to know from experienced users what kind of kit I would require.

I guess my safety kit will be similar to my 22ft cuddy but with the heads, galley and other goodies is there other tips you could give me? There is no DVD or video on there so guidance as to whether LCD or Plasma is the way to go would help. I now have shore power so I will be able to get some great kitchen equipment, ideas such as ice cream maker, blenders e.t.c. would be helpful.

As for the heads can this be transformed into a steam room come sauna or is this slightly ambitious? I have seen cubicles like this at bathroom showrooms but never in a chandlery. I will be fitting central heating in with an outlet in the heads.

It's an interesting question. On my 24fter I have:
- Three fire extinguishers. In the engine room, galley, and cabin.
- One fire blanket
- One coastal flare pack
- Six adult, two "pup" lifejackets
- One fixed VHF, one handheld VHF. No dsc !
- An inflatable tender, plus a small outboard.
- One fixed GPS plotter, one handheld GPS .
- Set of admiralty paper charts plus a fixed compass
- Torch
- Sharp knife
- Plenty of diesel at all times
- One corkscrew, plus 4 wine glasses

Blimey, call me happy, there's more onboard than I thought.
Main omission is a lifering, but there's nowhere to stow it sensibly.

Very interesting, I actually seem to have LESS storage on the bigger boat than the smaller one, I am having to cut down on some of my essentials until I can work out where to put the rest. I have a 260 Zodiac in a bag and a 3.3hp Mercury motor, I have rather a large engine bay but no seperate deck locker to put these in. I may have to get a lift raft but if I fit it on the back I could not get past the built in bathing platform, I don't want one of the stuck on tea tray like add ons as it would hinder me keeping the drive clean and also would be a problem if I got a rope around the prop. So still trying to work things out.
 
Welkin portable dvd player from woolworths under a hundred quid and harman kardon sound sticks another hundred but well worth it . Oh and a life jacket thing .
 
A 260 Zodiac is huge for a 24 footer! Mines a quicksilver 200... Or maybe you were planning to use it on your next 34 footer ?

Finding space to store stuff is always an issue. The tender goes on the bathing platform, the outboard under the rear bench seat. If it doesn't fit somewhere neatly, it doesn't go to sea. btw, the merc 3.3 is a fab outboard.

The Zodiac 260 is tiny really, I have a AVL inflator that sucks as well, so after using it I suck it down and fold it carefully, it goes into a nice small purpose made bag that is about 3' x 2' x 8". I use the Zodiac to pull my 3 man banana (well shark) with the kids on, great fun for them.

If you want a tv and DVD player, I've found the all in one units are a neater solution:
