There is probably a british equivalent but i haven't seen it.

More importantly, do they do a mast lift? The bulb on my "steaming light" has gone west (I hope it's the bulb, anyway)

Thanks for the good wishes. But I don't remember your age (if you have mentioned it). I'm 72 and expect to be told next month what heart surgery I should have. Since I don't have any symptoms and enjoy some boisterous sailing (such as in the Cyclades a few weeks ago) I am a bit sensitive to all such mentions of assistive technology...

I carry most of the things that have already been mentioned, and many of them have been sitting in lockers for years without being used. What I do find I use more than anything else is kitchen roll. I go through tons of it every year. Surely I'm not alone in this.
