In the space of one week that coffee/dining table comes on in leaps and bounds. It’s starting to look rather splendid. We'll go in to more detail on the actual design of it in due course but in the meantime the table-tops themselves are being finished off. They're made of ply with an 8mm thick teak veneer, cut from solid planks. Each plank has been selected and fitted so the grains match. Here's the main table, which has had a couple of coats of polyurethene applied (ignore the splashes, they were removed after the pic).

And here's a section of the coffee table, which will sit underneath the saloon table.

The electricians are finally pulling their fingers out and we've opened the boxes from Navionics, so now Liz and Sombat (the electrician) are lining up the components to make sure they fit where I've put them in my diagrams.

And Pong, the head carpenter, has been busy not only with the table tops but also the rubbing strake. We removed the outer layer and are putting in a new strip. He's routed them all ready for fitting.

And here's a little glimpse of our swimming platform.

You can see how the table was constructed in this week's video clip, which you can find here, all in HD glory.

I'm still only half way through the video for this post and now I see you have posted the next! Difficult to keep up. What a superb job it is turning out to be, fabulous to watch real craftsmen working with such quality timber and other materials.

Hi Vyv. Actually it is me who can't keep up. I should be posting up week 26 after a couple of weeks off!

Yes, the craftsmanship never ceases to amaze us. I'm itching to see our saloon/coffee table completed.
