Especially for Premier Marina users, but not exclusively.

Firstly, am I correct in thinking that Premier Marinas don’t offer diesel which is free from bio-diesel (free from Fame)?

If this is the case have Premier Marina users found that there has been an outbreak of diesel bug which is causing engine problems?

I’m thinking of moving from MDL , which does offer FAME free diesel, and am concerned about the diesel on offer.

From web site:

Premier provides high quality fuel sourced from WP Group and Mitchell & Webber.

Premier uses two suppliers at all of its sites to ensure the quality of fuel. Both add Soltron®, an enzyme treatment to its fuel to increase fuel efficiency and power output. Its fuel is compliant with British Standards and regulations, which allow for a maximum 7% FAME.

Based at Esso's Fawley Refinery near Southampton, WP Group is the South's leading independent supplier of fuels and lubricants, marketing Esso fuel and Mobil lubricants across a wide portfolio of business sectors and industries.

Mitchell & Webber are a family owned fuel distributor covering Cornwall & Devon.

Boat owners travelling abroad should be aware that this fuel may not comply with legislation outside the UK and customers should seek advice from their destination marina before travelling.

I haven't refuelled for a couple of years but no problems here, engine and warm air heater running fine...

Am I to assume that the lack of response means that there is not an issue? I have two friends who have boats in a Premier Marina, one never uses his boat and hasn’t topped up with fuel for at least three years, whilst the other uses his boat so much that the fuel never gets chance to sit in the tanks anyway.

Premier bertholder and user of fuel. My engines are very old and probably wouldn't notice a bug if it banged on them with a hammer. Not experienced any issues.

That is very concerning. I’ve been filling at Gosport, not any more. FAME is bad for seals as well as a risk for bug. Anyone know if the fuel barge at Cowes sells FAME free?

I've had two boats at a Premier Marina, both yachts, for over 7 years and also work at Eastbourne and am not been aware of any issues for boat owners.
if the fuel type was causing problems I'm certain we'd have heard about it!

Thank you all for your responses,. My concerns is that our Neptunian Ketch was designed as a motor sailor, and as a result has two 50 gallon tanks. The good news is that she sails so well that we don’t motor that much, the bad news is that as a result fuel could sit in the tanks for a couple of years, which is why I am concerned about using FAME fuel.
