about 6 months ago I had a premonition that our Vectra would cease functioning at 126,000 miles. Today the gearbox blew up at 125,646 miles .. spooky or what! ... also friggin painful on the wallet!

Had a similar premonition about my last car.
Decided to act on it and replaced it two weeks ago (part of a PX deal).
Saw it advertised for sale 3 days ago on a trade website - non-runner, parts only.
Close call.
