Advert: http://www.yachtworld.co.uk/boats/1990/Westerly-Oceanlord-2761836/Grenada#.VGPj0fmsV5N:

I think it's yellow fever and contagious because the boat next door also appears to be suffering from the same fever.

Edited to clarify - the last pic of the boat on the Yachtworld website shows the boat lying alongside a catamaran with a seemingly identical shade of yellow used on the hull.

Trying to take a positive i'd also say no problem for the CG helicopter and it is a lot of boat for £30k but squinting everytime you're aboard plus that sheepish expression you'd more than mastered by the first seasons end in your ownership when berthing would drive you to the spray booth, unless its new owners are some 'fun / bubbly' types' (read: deeply disturbed individuals), thats boats more or less a freebie.

Oh dear, I love it. So much brighter and more interesting than AWBs. I was very tempted many years ago with a mustard yellow Macwester 26.

The only thing that would stop me buying that would be the potential resale difficulty.

Pete Goss chose yellow (if memory serves correctly) for his Vendee Globe because his research showed that yellow was the most contrasting / outstanding colour at sea.

Maybe the owner is safety conscious above all else.

Thew problem is not the yellow itself, its the amount of it without any contrast or strap lines. If some contrasting lines/shapes were added to break up the beacon like effect, it would probably look OK. Add some tasteful green sails and there you go.
