Epoxy sheath

resolcoat?

hi, feel i might be trespassing here as my boat is 1979 grp.. :) but i was interested in the thread and wonder if any of the products mentioned would be suitable for my deck which is ply sheathed in grp. de-lamination has occurred in a couple of places and moisture has got in. would drying out, applying something like resocoat, then re-laminating with grp fix the problem and stop any rot that may have started?

Standard reply would be: If any rot is present, remove the effected wood and renew it, before replacing the sheathing, esp since rot has a habit of traveling along the laminates of ply further than may be first visible.

Imperfections can be ground out to an even colour with no dark streaks then filled with closed cell balloons, any damage in structural areas like corners can be ground out as above but will have to be filled with cloth and epoxy resin Not CSM.

All areas MUST be dry before any material goes on.

Good luck.
