As the topic says, would you bother epoxying a new 8 meter speedboat that stays in the water for 6-7 months a year or just go with a one part primer and antifoul? Is it worth the extra cost upfront for the protection or is meaningless because of the use?

Assuming it's a new boat that has not been antifouled it is a simple job, clean hull, define waterline from an identical boat or load with your gear and put on your normal mooring for a week or two and the weed line will show you and you can mark off, then pressure wash. If it goes on a swinging mooring in a harbour or river you need to put on a higher water line as the slop of wavelets or passing boats will cause fouling higher up the hull.

Degrease to remove hull mould release agents, abrade and start coating with international Gelshield or similar.

If it has already been antifouled you sill need to remove all the antifouling.
