I had to laugh yesterday. I was slapping some hull cleaner on the boat, to get rid of marks on the waterline and clean up the (S/S) prop. The bottle is covered in warnings about wearing protective clothing, not getting it in yer eyes and not dripping it on the ground - it's got sulphuric acid in it, inter alia, and certainly smelt lively, particularly when it was foaming away on the prop.

So, having boshed it around a bit and, I'm afraid, dripped the odd bit here and there, I suddenly noticed some wording at the bottom of the label, claiming that it was water-based and environmentally friendly. /forums/images/icons/crazy.gif. So; which is correct? Is it a Grade-A toxin; is the environment to which it's friendly the surface of the planet Venus, or what? I think we should be told.....

Coming soon: Mercury; the tuna-friendly metal? /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Well if you were to drink it, it might have a very un-green effect on you! (please dont try) But if its dumped in a bunch of water, as in the oggin, it will dilute very quickly! It is a naturally occuring product, so nature can handle it, but not in huge concentrations, ie a tanker load in a stream!
