One of the pan support clips broke last time it was removed for cleaning. Nothing very complex, just small metal clips to hold the pan support in place.

No problem, I managed to find a pack of 4 and thought the others would be fine as spares. Until I saw the price of £21.75 incl. delivery from Socal

Wow, I must have found the solid gold variety or perhaps they're Unobtanium based.

I couldn't find a generic alternative on Google, anyone know what they are called? I imagine they are a type of clip for rods or pipes.

Thanks both. 3 of our clips have broken in the last couple of weeks and I was about to start searching for spares. Job done for me!
We're really pleased with cooking performance of our ENO Grande Large but durability is definitely suspect. In 2.5 years we've had an unreasonable number of component failures

Having had a serious problem with my own new ENO Gasgone what sort of component failures have you had ? Did you purchase in UK ?

We did the same, bought of Socal at SIBS a few years ago, was gob smacked at the price! Then realised that careful coaxing with a pair of pliars fixed the originals. So, a pack of four still sitting in the spares box!

I managed to tease 3 back into shape but one split into 2 parts. Obviously bent back and forth too often in the last 10 years. :D
I expect you will eventually get to use a couple of the spares.

I wonder if a pipe retention clip might do (It is PBO after all). I could mount them on small stainless screws with a nut underneath. They'd probably look better than the original non-stainless clip.

Mine is a Grande Large with 3 burners, oven and grill. Bought in the UK
The auto ignition failed on 2 of the burners within a couple of months. Then on the oven and grill within the first year. It's still working on one of the burners. Handles for adjusting the pan clamps distorted and became useless within the first few uses of the oven. All the controls become dangerously hot when the oven is used.
Now 3 of the spring clamps mentioned in this thread have failed within a few weeks.

I spoke to the dealers at the Southampton Boat Show in 2018 and was told the pan clamp handles failed because I use the grill without the temperature guard out. When I pointed out that I had never used the grill he told me I must be mistaken. On the positive side he did allow me to buy some replacement handles but had not comment to make on the ignition failures.

I do like the unit because of the convenience of having 3 burners and the oven temperature is very controllable. I would have preferred it if these had come with simple quality components as well.

What was your problem?

We have a 3 burner model and the controls do get very hot with the oven in use. The silver caps crinkle and fall off and the controls knobs also fall off. We always use the heat shield with the grill. I would expect the controls to melt without the heat shield.

Not a brilliant cooker but ours has been reasonable. We struggled to make toast on the original 2-burner version and were told none of the Eno cookers had a decent grill. Fortunately, we upgraded to a new 3 burner version after a few weeks use and that did have a reasonable grill. The dealer had already replaced the oven thermocouple after about 2 weeks use (i.e. cooked something once).

I tried to fix a friend's Eno and confirmed that the HT spark unit had failed, not a cheep at any burner. Same thing when I tested the unit at source. Not too surprised to hear they don't have a good reputation.

2 burner Gasgone installed March 2019. Grill and burners all ok but using the oven had the controls getting very hot and dangerous as I couldn’t turn them off. I live on Hayling and Went to the reseller/importer who told me I’d run the oven too hot because there is no oven thermostat, that due to yacht healing liquid gas had gone back down the pipe(!!!) I’d installed it wrongly. Extremely slopey shoulders told me I needed to get my own gas engineer to ascertain the problem - even though it’s still under warranty 2 years. I got legal advice and eventually the importer decided to get an engineer in from Southampton who took it away and agreed it was getting too hot. I’m still waiting for it to be reinstalled.........and as yet have had no resolution as to the problem. Sounds like a dangerous design fault to me.
