I ahve a 57ft sailing catamaran I need to put engines in. It is 53ft at waterline of wood/glass construction and weighs 17000kgs unladen and around 22000kgs laden.
I have been trying to ascertain what hp engines and what prop size I need to sustain 12knots all day.
This has given me so many different answers talking to engineers (range from 75hp-230hp and 17"props to 26" props) I would like to get this more accurate before I start to spend money.
Anybody out there who has a formula or significant knoiwledge I would appreciate comments from.
