I have enquired about a boat described as a 1970 boat having Volvo Penta 4.2l engines so I have looked up specs for those engines to check service parts, reliability, fuel consumption etc but haven't seen a petrol 4.2 listed (4.2 could be an error of course!). Pulley recognition challenge in engine photos below so hoping someone recognises them :)

Can say with pretty much certainty it will be a VP 4.3 V6 and GM based.
One of the most popular marine power plants in the world. Also one of the best. Most likely to be 190-205hp depending on 2 or 4 barrel carb.
Just by the slight pictures, I'd say mid 90's to very early 2000's and a carb.
