Engineers in Falmouth: vote of thanks

Our alternator gave up its ghost on passage from Scilly last week. Phoned a couple of numbers and got to Challenger Marine Ltd in Penryn. We arrived in Falmouth VYH at 24.00 and they came to the boat in the morning, carried out some diagnostics and took the alternator away. Next day all came back in working order with a new regulator and a new lick of paint (which makes it look new). It has been working perfectly ever since.

Many thanks for such a punctual, rapid and effective service, particularly to David who coordinated it all. The bill was not exorbitant (compared with my car service bill). I thoroughly recommend them ... even if I hope I will not need them in despair again. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

For everything there is a flip side....... the enigneers may be efficient & reliable, but the brokerage deffinitely isn't! I tried on a number of occasions to view a boat, and got we will give you a ring back for a convenient time, but never got a response... even when I chased them again. Wouldn't bother with them again.
