Hi all,

I'm in need of an engineer to attend my first sea trial with me and I'm hoping you lovely lot may have some recommendations for me. The boat is currently moored at Port Solent and is fitted with a mercruiser 4.3 v6.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the replies people.

Has anyone used signature marine in hamble? They have been servicing the boat for the past few years. Or should I use someone not familiar with the boat?

I used Volvopaul on all my purchases and would not use anyone else if I could help it, reason being he saved me nearly £8000 when I purchased a sealine S37 he did a full check of the boat and did the sea trial with me and he found stuff wrong with it that I had missed (mainly a badly corroded port engine sump) which was very difficult to see and thanks to Paul I then re-negotiated the agreed price and got another 8k knocked off, fantastic service in my opinion and he has looked after all my boats since that day.

If it is amercian boat then I'd go with Nautik Marine (Vandy, or Rob) in Saxon. I used them for my purchase of Bayliner (had Merc), very reasonably priced, very detailed, and they had really helpful.

Just wanted to say thank you to you all. Tom (Tompa Marine) attended the sea trial with us on the weekend and he was brilliant. Really knowledgeable and full of tips and advice about the Monterey boats and Mercruiser engines. Will definitely be using him for our service work.
