Hi,

My two KAD300 works at different temperatures. Please see photos attached.... abt 1 hour after start up there is still a difference of abt. 10 degrees celcius. The engine with the low temp also serves the waterheater. I believe the temps have always been same earlier seasons but I am not sure. Once I give both WOT the temps on both goes up to abt. 90 degrees celsius and stay there until I go back to running slow and again the temps will show abt. 10 degrees celsius difference. I am thinking it could be a stuck temp sensor (always fully open). Any other ideas ? Thanks.

Infra red thermometer from Mapins
Aim it @ the thermostats housing

Report back with real numbers ps

Kad 300 wiring harness for temp sensors and guages
Notorious for work hardening the insulation and giving false reading due to various changes in resistance

No point going any further until you have real numbers

Perfectly normal and nothing of concern.
I think with all the possible variance in the gauge and the extra cooling effect of a couple of metres of piping through the calorifier, all can be accounted for in your case.

Hi,

Temps on both engines were within 1 degree Celsius when measuring with the infrared. Checked the gauges and found that one of the connectors were slightly loose. Fixed it and is now back in business :-)
