engine start battery

they're not really that helpful. a minimum size in ah and cca would be more useful. Why is 70ah the max? I currently have 85ah and it seems to work ok?

If volvo can't tell us max and min amounts how are laymen supposed to know? it does annoy me a little that the experts in big companies cannot share basic essential info with their customers!

Come-on why the big secrets... ...tell us!!

Don't get too worked up about it. It really is not that critical. Any 70-85 ah battery designed for starting a diesel engine will be more than adequate. The one in my 2L Ford diesel lasted 7 years starting the engine virtually every day. Compared with that starting a 2001 in a yacht is a doddle. Biggest thing is to make sure your charging system recharges it quickly as soon as the engine starts.

Sorry if my response was not helpful enough ..... I thought it answered your question and provided a link which would enable you to confirm it.

I remember when people were grateful for answers to their questions. It was all fields and trees around here then...
