Hi

I own a barge with a Diesel engine and diesel generator housed in a reasonably sized engine room. The engine room suffers from condensation that provokes corrosion. In addition to improving air flow l’d like to install insulation on the walls. The barge has a thick steel hull. Any advice on a suitable insulation material to help with temperature and noise would be appreciated. Also, any tips on how to install the insulation would be helpful.

If it's to insulate a steel hull I'd have thought spray foam would be the way to go, like they do to new narrowboat hulls, e.g. You could possibly DIY with aerosol cans if it's a relatively small area...

First of all is there enough ventilation to the engine room? As mentioned Halyard marine do a range of components and when I last looked a list of good ideas on how to reduce noise whilst not restricting ventilation.
