In the ducting at the big pipe there is a round disk with spade terminals - looks like a thermistor - T130K Type 261 10(3)/250v

Fan won't run with it in situ but will run if I connect the wires together without it.

Help please, It is open circuit and remains O/C if heated up.

Can't find it from a google - RS - Farnell search.

anyone know please

cheers

Thanks

Had a look but it's tricky to know which one, not sure when the fan should be on - all the time until it all gets too hot, ie fire, for a while before the engine starts, or what ??

cheers

That german site suggests the part is a 55degC part - so as long as you go cooler than that, I can't imagine there would be a problem.

Good luck /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

As rickp says, the German site quotes 55 deg for your thermostat. The two part numbers I quoted are identical stats with 55 deg and 65 deg ratings, and I think either would do, as the function of the stat is probably to turn the fan off in the event of fire. Anything much lower than 55 deg wouldn't work for this. I just thought that buying it as a domestic appliance spare might be cheap and quick.

Thanks for the help

Sorted now - the original one starts the fan off when waved at by a hair drier - not going to test the fire rating though!!
