I am having trouble with my mercury outboard 60 hp, the alarm keeps sounding, i have checked the oil and water but it is not that . any ideas

I assume oil is injected via separate tank/reservoir? If so the alarm may sound if the level of the 2 stroke oil in the tank falls below about 50%, usually when the boat rolls/pitches causing oil to slop around giving an erroneous low level warning.
Certainly happened on a Johnson 150VRO we had a few years ago.
