Will need to do an oil change soon and am running low on oil.
Locally (Sardinia) I can only find mineral oil and have previously only used non mineral oil.
What is the perceived wisdom about using 'modern oil' in my ancient engine?
Is it possible to bring oil in to the country via checked in baggage?
I notice also that antifoul is very expensive here, can this be imported?
Cheers guys

Any low spec 20/50 engine oil will do. If looking for something specific, CC is probably about what you need.
Mineral is probably better than synthetic or semi synthetic.
A 4.108 is a low stressed, low tech engine - nothing fancy. I guess it would probably run fine for years on chip fat!!!! (but I wouldn't try it!!)

as the other guy said. A low spec 20/50, CC or CD spec BUT difficult to find! I use Tesco or Lidl 15/40 multi. Dont use synthetic! All oil other than synthetic is mineral!

The Perkins will run on almost anything according to the spec sheets, unless in extreme temperatures. 10-40...15-40...20-50...all fine.
