Hi comrades, firstly may I wish everyone a happy and prosperous new year!
Now I have an handy oil pump extractor thingy located in the port locker. It is extremely useful for taking the engine oil out but alas it has stopped working, the rubber seal washer bit inside has gone hard after only 49 years of faithful service and I can't find a replacement, does anyone know where these rubber washer things can be bought ?

There is a new rubber washer in a new pump. Don't be so tight, the makers need to make money else there will be no more made!

Its often been said that I'm tighter than two coats of paint, but I really like this pump for some reason and it was designed to be replaced so I just thought it may be worth it.

What shape of washer is it? You might be able to find one of the correct size online, or if it's big enough to not be too fiddly you could cut one out of rubber sheet assuming it's just a flat washer.

It's worth a go, as it's not exactly something that is critical if it were to fail again!

Probably the make and model and age are significant so you could buy a seal and it might not fit . But here's start

Yes thats it, and I found one almost the same on ebay for about £5, although a new pump complete is just £15 ! So being tighter than a ducks rear passage I am cutting up an old pair of Brogues to make one :)
