Engine oil flushing - anyone use this

The smiley was embarrassment! Water pump failed but didn't really show until water was in the case.
Engine flushed (twice) with a 50/50 mix of diesel and the usual oil as recommended by Al and Norm at Bukh, then new filter and oil

Apologies, just shows why this stuff is lost on me.........

Having been responsible for the service department of a major diesel engine manufacturer I would have kicked Al and Norm's backside down the road for giving such advice, seeing rapid wear on bearings on unit injector engines if O rings are nipped causing it to "make" oil.
