Does anyone have, or know where I could obtain, a copy of the workshop manual for a Perkins T6.3544m engine? I've been kindly given the automotive version manual, which should be fine for most things, but there are quite a few differences on the marine engine. My biggest problem is that my engines were missing a number of parts when I bought them, particularly injectors. I don't think the truck engine injectors are the same as the marine ones, so hopefully the marine manual would tell me which ones I need. I tried getting the information from Sabre, they were no help at all I'm afraid.

Hi
I can't help you with a manual but would suggest a post on the wanted section on this site--someone may have a spare. I'm contacting an old friend of mine who used to work on Perkins engines and will ask him if he knows where you can get hold of one.

As for the injectors--I think your local auto diesel shop may help or as you are based in Alderney ask around the marina- I'm sure someone must have a Perkins you can look at. Injectors, I think, are a standard size but with a different pressure setting--its been a few years since I worked on a marine 6-354 but from memory a naturally aspirated diesel is set at 160 atmospheres pressure but a turbo needs a setting of 195. I'm in the process of moving house and am busy packing but I know that somewhere I have a spare injector, (set at 160) which is always handy to have on board let me know if your interested.

Thanks for your reply DavidUnfortunately the T6.3544M ( or Range 4 T6.354 as they are sometimes known), is not a very common engine. It was the last 6 cylinder marine engine produced in-house by Perkins, prior to their link-up with Sabre. It has very little in common with the old T6.354. Mine are the (approx) 200hp model, made in 1982. I now know which injector holders should be fitted but not which nozzles, or their pressure settings, thanks to Penfold, who often posts on these forums. He has a pair of these engines too, so I'm sure he'd be interested in a photocopy of the manual if one can be tracked down.

I tried the Wanted forum a while back, no joy I'm afraid. As for an Auto-diesel shop and a marina in Alderney, In my dreams......:)

Following my last post I have had speaks with my friend and he unfortunately can't help with any suggestions. However, I have found a Dutch web site which contains downloads (free!!!). Your engine is not listed under the Perkins but perhaps if you were to send an email they may be able to get hold of one or point you in the right direction. There is an English version available on the union flag.

The site is found at:-<A target="_blank" HREF=http://motoren.ath.cx/>http://motoren.ath.cx/</A>
