Engine ID

Hi folks.

A friend has a early 80s Princess 39DS and is struggling to ID the engine. He thinks it is a
Ford of some description. Cant find a serial number. I have no clue. Could anyone confirm by the pic below?

Thanks G. I saw that but the lancing marine link points to dorset engines? Chasing that transit manual would be a good start though.
