Engine Hatch Lift Motor

My engine hatch electric motor makes a terrible noise and I fear it is going to seize up soon. I am told that a new unit is £500. Does anyone know whether it might be possible to overhaul / rebuild the existing motor. Thanks.

If you're around bournemouth there used to be a guy who overhauled Starter motors and Altenators, solenoids and dynamo's etc... out of a small workshop quite reasonable too.

I can't find his name but he used to be a guy with a workshop down between two houses in Southbourne or West Howe but can't for the life of me remember, but will have an ask around as I know a few people that used him.

Could be worth calling these guys also...
