Anybody know of a website that contains a cross reference table of engine components.
My tub has a Ford Fiesta/Escort diesel donk in it and I'm trying to get new filters. I know what Motorcraft / Filtron fuel & oil filters I need, but good old Halfords have no idea what these relate to in thiers or Champions range.
Unfortunatly I do n't know the year of the car it came out of - so am bit stuck

A decent motor factor, Brown Brothers, or Part co. (look in yellow pages under car parts, distributors) will have a cross referance book and they normally take great delight in looking things up and getting an answer, particularly if you tell them you have had a lot of trouble trying to get the information. I always go into places like this in my overalls so I can get trade discount. Hope this helps. Paul

If it's a Ford XLD 1.6, then look at Fiesta diesel pre 1986, If the 1.8 then Escort of the same age. Halfords have my filters (for the 1.6) in stock all the time. Lansing Marine, who marinised loads of these, will be able to help too.
